HP Board Declares Regular Dividend

PALO ALTO, Calif., June 3, 2008 - The HP board of directors has declared a regular cash dividend of 8 cents per share on the company’s common stock.

The dividend, the third in HP’s fiscal year 2008, is payable on July 2, 2008, to stockholders of record as of the close of business on June 11, 2008.

HP has approximately 2.5 billion shares of common stock outstanding.

HP Names Don Grantham Chief Sales Officer

PALO ALTO, Calif., June 3, 2008 - HP today announced that it has appointed Don Grantham to serve as senior vice president and chief sales officer, effective immediately.

Grantham will report to Ann Livermore, executive vice president of the Technology Solutions Group at HP, and be responsible for HP’s enterprise accounts and public sector sales. He also will lead sales for the Communications, Media and Entertainment; Financial Services; and Manufacturing and Distribution industries.

In addition to these duties, Grantham will lead worldwide alliance sales, sales compensation, global pre-sales, sales support, sales operations and go-to-market effectiveness.

HP Awards More Than $7 Million in Education Grants to Schools in the United States and Puerto Rico

PALO ALTO, Calif., June 2, 2008 - HP is awarding 149 K-12 public schools and two- and four-year colleges and universities in the United States and Puerto Rico more than $7 million in technology, cash and professional development training.

The grants, part of the 2008 HP Technology for Teaching Grant initiative, mark five years of the company’s commitment to innovative educators who are transforming student achievement through the use of technology in the classroom, while encouraging student interest in careers in technology, engineering, math and science, including environmental science.

HP Makes it Easy to Make Smart Environmental Choices with Unrivaled Portfolio of Printing Solutions

PALO ALTO, Calif., May 22, 2008 - HP today unveiled a broad effort to help make it easy for customers to reduce the environmental impact of their imaging and printing.

Targeting customers spanning individual consumers to large businesses, the wide-ranging initiative includes elements such as:

  • an enterprise printing assessment service and a carbon calculator that together comprehensively address energy and paper use, related carbon emissions and projected cost savings for optimized printing environments;

HP Reports Second Quarter 2008 Results

PALO ALTO, Calif., May 20, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- HP (NYSE:HPQ) today announced financial results for its second fiscal quarter ended April 30, 2008, with net revenue of $28.3 billion, up 11% from a year earlier and up 5% when adjusted for the effects of currency.

In the second quarter, GAAP operating profit was $2.6 billion and GAAP diluted earnings per share (EPS) was $0.80, up from $0.65 in the prior-year period. Non-GAAP operating profit was $2.8 billion, with non-GAAP diluted EPS of $0.87 up from $0.70 in the prior-year period. Non-GAAP financial information excludes $172 million of adjustments on an after-tax basis, or $0.07 per diluted share, related primarily to amortization of purchased intangibles.

Hewlett-Packard Company Foundation, HP and Employees Commit More Than $1 Million to Relief Efforts in China

PALO ALTO, Calif., May 15, 2008 - The Hewlett-Packard Company Foundation today announced that it has committed $500,000 to the American Red Cross International Relief Fund in partnership with the Red Cross Society of China for aid in the aftermath of the earthquake that devastated the country’s Sichuan Province .

Numerous HP employees have already provided financial aid, and HP supports and encourages continued giving. HP employees in have collectively given at least $285,000 – approximately $100,000 of which was donated within the first hour alone of China ’s appeal for donations. The Hewlett-Packard Company Foundation also has instituted a gift-matching program for HP employee contributions for up to $350,000. ...

HP Announces Preliminary Second Quarter Results; Raises Full Year Earnings, Revenue Outlook

PALO ALTO, Calif., May 13, 2008 - HP today announced preliminary results for the second fiscal quarter 2008, with revenue of $28.3 billion compared with $25.5 billion one year ago.

In the second quarter, preliminary GAAP diluted earnings per share (EPS) were $0.80 and non-GAAP diluted EPS were $0.87, compared with second quarter fiscal 2007 GAAP diluted EPS of $0.65 and non-GAAP diluted EPS of $0.70. Non-GAAP diluted EPS estimates exclude after-tax costs related primarily to the amortization of purchased intangible assets of approximately $0.07 per share and $0.05 per share in the second quarter of fiscal 2008 and fiscal 2007, respectively.

Hewlett-Packard Company Foundation Commits $250,000 to World Food Programme for Relief Efforts in Myanmar (Burma)

PALO ALTO, Calif., May 9, 2008 - The Hewlett-Packard Company Foundation today announced it has committed $250,000 to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) for aid in the disaster relief efforts in Myanmar (Burma).

HP and its employees around the world have been deeply moved by the devastating impact of Cyclone Nargis on the hundreds of thousands of innocent citizens in communities in southern Myanmar.

The HP Company Foundation contribution comes on the heels of an urgent request by the WFP (www.wfp.org), one of only two relief agencies operating in the country, to assist them in their efforts to help the victims of the storm.

HP Labs Opens Research Opportunities to Academia

PALO ALTO, Calif., May 7, 2008 - HP today made it possible for colleges, universities and research institutions worldwide to participate in joint research with HP Labs, the company’s central research facility, through an open and competitive process.

The new HP Labs Innovation Research Program invites the worldwide academic community to submit proposals related to current research in the areas of information explosion, dynamic cloud services, content transformation, intelligent infrastructure and sustainability.

The program is the first offering of the HP Labs Open Innovation Office, which was established earlier this year as part of HP Labs’ new approach to research. The office is responsible for deepening HP Labs’ strategic collaborations with academia, the government and the commercial sector to produce mutually beneficial, high-impact research.
